A Savage Boy By : Bahaeddin Ramadan
Translated by : Youssef Abdelaziz Every morning you write about that savage boy, Who declared that he would not enroll in the political changing movements, Or the governing party. And would burn his starving kids Under a sycamore tree, Which he thinks to see it for the first time this winter. So, you write – every morning – About that savage boy, And participate him his desire for yelling Under the cloudy sky and the winter's shiver. The savage boy who would cut all trees - In order to save a lonely sycamore tree, A lonely street, and an old veranda - And burn his young kids, Has set out his face to the River Nile, For the sake of weeping! Translated by : Youssef Abdelaziz July 2008
